Planer Boards As Your Primary Trolling Tool

Water in our ecosystem has gone from low visibility to extremely clear. With this change of environment the angler must evolve in his presentation to produce consistently. This article will talk you through a very effective way to meet these demands for sunny conditions with spooky fish.

Hello all: I consider it a privilege to be a member of your fishing community and pass on ideas and knowledge to everyone. Most of my articles talk about products which I believe will make you a better angler. Some I sell and some I find of a quality level worth my endorsement. My goal is to always serve the community and enrich your fishing experience.

Now is the time to move to the next generation of presentations. If you find yourself behind the pack when it comes to putting fish in the cooler, a system of planer boards will improve your learning curve.

Allow me to outline and give details of several options in planer board fishing. This will provide some ideas you may want try in the upcoming season. I highly recommend them.

Equipment for getting started

While there is some expenses involved the rewards will be great. Initially two boards will get you going. Expect to pay between $25 and $35 each for individual board with many more or less expensive choices. I will give details on my first choice and then offer some others.

There was a time when long lines with weight were the standard for getting the baits well behind the boat. This is a system of inline weight attached to the line about four feet ahead of the bait. By changing the weight size you will raise or lower the spoon or bait in the water column.

The function of a planer board is to increase your odds by moving the bait off to the side of the boat. By presenting lures outside of the boat’s path in undisturbed water you will find them more likely to bite. Each board is made in a way that when trolled behind the boat it will move to left or right of your travel path. Some boards, like the Church Tackle TX 22, are reversible allowing you to run them left or right.

Rigging is simple. After you have let out the line to the distance you would like, attach the board with the clip provided by the manufacturer. Once the board is attached lower the board into the water allowing it to run off to the side of the boat. When the fish strikes you may do one of two things. Do not release the board just reel the board to the rod tip and hand release it. Then finish reeling in your fish. A second option is to release the board, which slides down the line toward the inline weight and stops. The board is reeled in with the fish and the fish is netted.

Up to now we have talked about individual boards that go on each line. You can also go with a large board towed on each side of the boat pulled by a heavy monofilament line. The line is let out the same as before and then attached with a release to the heavy mono line to the large board. As you let out additional line the release will slide down the mono toward the board. You may stop the release any time along the way to the large board. When the fish strikes the line pulls free of the release and the fish is reeled in. Then the line is reset and attached to tow line again. The draw back of this system is it requires a tall mast to pull the large boards and is not transferable boat to boat. The advantage to individual boards is less cost and I find them more efficient in setting line and cranking in fish when on a hot bite.

Salmon Fishing Puzzle Solved!

Salmon in particular and many other species can be especially finicky and difficult to catch. As all types of fish are unique in their habitat there is some common threads in their DNA. The common factors and threads are the parts of the puzzle that, when fitted together, will solve some of your most difficult questions. Now let's explore the common threads.

Forage is huge!

Forage relates to what your quarry likes to eat and in some cases will eat when necessary. Your research in this area must include local anglers along with bait shops and Internet or magazines. The season, water temperature and ecosystem are all important in your decision. Focus on size, color and location for the best results.

Seasonal patterns

All fish have different preferences as they go through their annual life cycles. Pay special attention to this part of the puzzle. Most anglers know when their target spawns but there is much more to this equation. Each locale will be different and if the second week in April is the time for the bass to be on the spawning beds in your area this may not be true if you are fishing three hundred miles north or south of your location. Observation is key. Look to where you usually find fish and without satisfactory results expand your search.

Temperature is everything

When I do my seminars I constantly harp on temperature as a major player in productive consistent angling. Consider your fishing target much like an opponent in a sport. By knowing the temp preference of the target you will be a leg up on the other anglers. This knowledge will eliminate tons of non-productive water. Temperature will tell you about the attitude and most likely location to fish. A temp that is near the optimum or ideal for your species can be approached with your most aggressive baits and presentations. On the other hand warm water fish that are in cold water will require a slower and perhaps smaller lures or baits.

Summary

Consider all three forage, seasonal patterns and temperature when trying to solve the fishing puzzle and you will be on your way to becoming a better angler. The next article will continue with more parts of the puzzle to complete or at least give some shape and direction to the sport of angling. Adjust to meet conditions and you will become a better angler. Do you like to blog? Creamy Potato Pierogi

This dairy-free rendition of the classic Polish dumpling is creamy and delicious with a lighter dough and filling than traditional versions. While traditional pierogi are served in butter, this creamy pepper sauce adds a delicious texture and flavor without the saturated fats and cholesterol of most pierogi recipes. These savory dumplings are easy to make in advance and can be frozen and boiled at a later time for a quick weeknight meal.

Serves four
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:

* 2 cups plus 2 T. white all-purpose flour, divided
* 1 ½ t. salt, plus more to taste
* 1 cup and 1/3 cup unsweetened dairy-free soy yogurt, divided
* 2 cups and 3 T. soy milk, divided
* 1 large egg, lightly beaten
* 4 large Yukon Potatoes, chopped
* ¼ cup and 1 T. olive oil, divided
* 2/3 cup sliced onions
* 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
* Pepper, to taste
* ¼ cup chopped scallions

Preparation:

1. Make the dough. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the 2 cups flour and 1 ½ t. salt until combined. Make a well in the center of the mixture, adding the 1/3 cup soy yogurt, 2 T. soy milk and the egg. With a wooden spoon, pull the flour from the edges of the bowl into the center until forming a soft dough.

2. On a lightly floured countertop or work surface, turn the dough out and knead until elastic, about 5 minutes. Wrap in plastic wrap and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes.

3. Make the filling. In a medium-sized stockpot or sauce pan, boil enough water to cover the potatoes. Boil until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain in a collander and set aside.

4. Meanwhile, heat the 1 T. olive oil in a heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat, adding the onions and garlic once hot. Stirring occassionally, aute until the onions are translucent and fragrant, about 7 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

5. Place the potatoes, onion and garlic mixture and 1 cup soy yogurt in a food processor, pulsing several times so that the mixture is creamy but not pureed. Salt and pepper to taste.

6. Make the pierogi. Boil several cups of salted water. On a lightly floured surface, divide the dough into four sections and working with one section at a time, roll out the dough until very thin, about 1/8" thick or thinner.

7. Using a round pastry cutter, sharp lid or just a sharp knife, cut out circles of desired size from the dough. Place desired amount of filling on one half of the circle, brushing one edge with a small amount of water. Fold the circle in half, pinching to seal the pierogi. Repeat until all fillind and dough is used, placing pierogi on a baking sheet or plate and covering until ready to boil.

8. Add several pierogi at a time to the boiling water, making sure that they do not touch one another. Cook for several minutes until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon to individual plates, keeping covered while making the sauce.

9. Make the sauce. In a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-low heat, heat the ¼ cup olive oil and the 2 T. flour, whisking constantly with a wire whisk to keep the flour from burning. When the flour begins to smell toasty, after about 1-2 mintues, add the remaining 2 cups soymilk and chopped scallions, stirring constantly. Cook until desired consistency, add the salt and generously pepper to taste.

10. Pour sauce over pierogi and serve hot.

Guacamole

While many guacamole recipes are dairy-free, many of the creamier store-bought versions will contain sour cream or other dairy bi-products. To keep your guacamole form turning brown longer, leave the pits in the guacamole until ready to serve.

Makes about 2 cups
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:

* 4 avocados, cut in half and pits removed
* Juice of 1 lemon
* ¼ cup finely chopped onion
* ¼ cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
* 1 t. salt
* 1 t. olive oil
* 2 T. plain soy yogurt
* 1 small tomato, finely chopped

Preparation:

1. Scoop out the avocado flesh into a small bowl and mash the pulp well with a fork or potato-masher. Add the lemon juice, onion, cilantro salt, olive oil and soy yogurt, mashing until mixture is smooth. Stir in the chopped tomato, cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.

Sate: Indonesian Popular Dish

Saté (also spelled "satay" or "sateh") is the generic name for pieces of seafood or meat such as pork, lamb, beef or chicken, often marinated, which is then threaded on bamboo skewers and grilled over a charcoal fire although if no charcoal fire is available, is equally delicious when grilled under a conventional cooker grill.

Various forms are popular in many Asian countries and are often served with a sate sauce.

Spiced sate is a popular dish in Indonesian cuisine and beef or lamb is highly recommended for this type of sate. These are cooked with spices such as coriander, cumin, caraway and turmeric with added chili, garlic or onion. The skewer lengths usually range from 15cm /6-inches to about 20cm/8-inches.

National Park Vacation At Borneo's Mesilau Nature Park, An Alternative To Kinabalu National Park

One of the most popular Borneo destinations is undoubtedly Kinabalu National Park, where Mount Kinabalu resides. Each year, thousands of visitors visited Kinabalu National Park for either a refreshing National Park Vacation to escape the hot tropical sun and catch a glimpse of the highest mountain in South East Asia, or to conquer the mystical Mount Kinabalu.

Nevertheless, for a unique National Park Vacation in Borneo, you must make sure that you drop by at the lesser known Mesilau Nature Park, which is just about 30 minutes by road away from Kinabalu National Park. From Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, Malaysia Borneo, it only takes approximately 2.5 hour drive to reach Mesilau Nature Park.

Mesilau Nature Park is located within the vicinity of Kinabalu National Park on the Pinosok Plateau near Kundasang town. The stretch of the road from Kundasang town to Mesilau Nature Park, which is about 2,000 metres above sea level, is extremely steep and winding. However, the road condition has improved immensely in recent times, which makes the ascending ride a breeze.

On the way, you will surely be captivated by the spectacular views of the Kundasang valley with terraced hill slopes planted with highlands vegetables, and parts of the scenic beauty of the Kundasang Mount Kinabalu Golf Course, a challenging 18-hole golf course for avid golfers, undeniably, the highest golf course in South East Asia.

But once you get to Mesilau Nature Park, you will notice that the place is more natural and "virgin" than the now "commercialized" Kinabalu National Park. As the Park lies at the base of Mount Kinabalu, Mount Kinabalu will look even more spectacular with a sheer wall of granite towering a few thousand meters from the virgin forest floor and ending in jagged peaks. This breathtaking sight is aptly called the Mesilau Pinnacles.

To experience the best of what Mesilau can offer, you will need to spend a night or two at the eco-friendly Mesilau Nature Resort, which is nestled amongst the trees at the foot of the mountain within the Park. The Resort itself is amazing since it was carefully planned and built to blend into its natural surrounding.

The chalets are on slopes surrounded by trees with the full view of the Mesilau River flowing below. And for food, the Kedamaian Restaurant is famous for its piping hot steamboat, and barbecue dinners, which makes it a good excuse to stay overnight.

Mesilau Nature Park is also the starting point for the alternative and more challenging route up Mount Kinabalu. If you are of an adventurous kind, do trek the route up to a kilometres or two even if you are not planning to climb Mount Kinabalu. Since the Mesilau Summit Trail is relatively newer and less crowded than the old summit trail, your chance of encountering (tamed) wildlife is also brighter.

One prominent feature of the route is the seemingly abundance of orchids (Rhododendrons) and pitcher plants. The world’s largest pitcher plant, the “Nepenthes Rajah”, is recorded to grow in abundance here. For most visitors, a less taxing guided nature walk around the Park is recommended. It will leave you with lasting "natural" memories.

Mesilau will not fail to enchant you with its cool temperate climate (temperatures vary around 17-21 degree Celcius during the day and 10-15 degree Celcius at night) and serene surroundings as a truly astonishing nature’s paradise. Mesilau Nature Park and its Resort is an ideal venue for relaxation or retreat.

The bio-diversity of the flora and fauna found here makes Mesilau a haven for naturalists. It is one of the best locations in Borneo for an unforgettable National Park Vacation.(By: Rich Adz)

Legends Of Yogyakarta!

Yogyakarta province is one of the most densely populated areas of Indonesia. The city came into being in 1755, after the division of Mataram into the Sultanates of Yogyakarta and Surakarta (Solo). Gamelan, classical and contemporary Javanese dances, the wayang kulit leather puppet theater and other expressions of traditional art will keep the visitor spellbound. Local craftsmen excel in the arts of batiks, silver and leather work.

In the middle of south Central Java lies the magical region of Yogyakarta, the cradle of Javanese culture and tradition. In the north the volatile, Mount Merapi – the Fire Mountain with captivating physical beauty stands vigorously guarding the surrounding nature.

This gigantic volcano, sometimes dangerous with its eruption and lava spitted from its crater, but at the same time gives tremendous fertility to the land. That's the reason why the farmers – inhabitants living in its slope do not want to leave their ancestor's place of birth. They have a mystical relation with Merapi to live in harmony with 'the rulers' of the mountain to keep them safe and peaceful.
It disclosed that the name Jogja, instead of Yogyakarta or Yogya, is used as a promotion to market Yogyakarta since Y is a difficult alphabetical start for most international audiences -both reading and spelling. While Jogja is easily pronounced as JOG-ja, even JOG could be used as nickname.

Yogyakarta is known for its silver work, leather puppets used for shadow plays (wayang kulit), and a unique style of making batik dyed fabric. It is also known for its vivid contemporary art scene. Yogyakarta is also known for its gamelan music, including the unique style Gamelan Yogyakarta, which developed in the courts.

Water Castle

Built in 1758 by Sultan Hamengkubuwono I just west of the kraton, part of this pleasure garden and castle is at present no more than an intriguing collection of ruins, pools, arches and underground passages enclosed by massive walls, however, the central courtyard with the nymph-baths has been restored.

The Water Castle is located in the older part of the city within walking distance from the Bird Market. A number of batik workshops line the avenue leading to the pleasure garden's entrance.

Imogiri

Imogiri is the official cemetery of the royal descendants from Yogyakarta and Surakarta. The royal graveyard is located on a hilltop, reachable by 345 stone steps leading to it.

Imogiri is about 17 kms southeast of Yogyakarta and easily accessible by bus or car. The tombs are built within three main courtyards.

Entry into the smaller courtyards housing the tombs of the princes is allowed only on Monday 09.00 - 12.00 or Friday 13.00 - 16.00. Traditional Javanese dress has to be worn, which however can be hired on the spot at a modest fee. The cemetery is closed during the Moslem month of Ramadhan.(By: James C.Cameer)

Take the Puri Ganesha Villas in the north of the island, bordered by green mountains on one side and the sea on the other, Puri Ganesha is a collection of just four two-storey villas, each with its access onto the private beach and its own seawater swimming pool. Or try the Nusa Dua, one of the newest boutique hotels on Bali, where 20 exclusive pavilions provide accommodation for their lucky occupants, with butler service and private pools.

What can I see?

One of the obvious attractions of Bali is the warm coastline and fabulous beaches. If you’re not a total beach bum though, there are many other areas that are worth a visit, including Ganung Batur, a volcanic cone with a lake in the surrounding caldera. The landscape is worth the climb, but the climate at this height is very different from that of the beaches, so be prepared for much cooler, damp conditions. Romantics could try the Bali Orchid Garden – the climate in Bali particularly suits these gorgeous flowers – or visit one of the ancient shrines and temples that dot the landscape.

How do I get around?

If you ever decide to leave your villa to go anywhere other than the beach – and you should, because otherwise you’ll miss nearly all that Bali has to offer – then use the cheap bus system, or for slightly more money, but also more comfort, use the regular tourist buses. You can also rent a motorcycle or bike for a slightly more adventurous trip around the island.(By: Chic Retreats)

Don’t Miss These 5 PPC ROI Boosters

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is a cost effective web marketing strategy. With less than a cent per click, you can have a stream of the most targeted traffic flooding your website. But this can only be true to expertly set up PPC campaigns.
PPC can either make or break your online business. While it may be able to draw countless targeted traffic to your website at a very low cost, it can also rip you off your budget as well. A fair measure of your PPC campaign’s effectiveness is the Return On Investment or ROI.
Return On Investment (ROI) And PPC
Higher ROI means that your PPC campaign is performing well. It means that your target market is reaching your website, your ads are generating qualified links and your visitors are converted to customers. The ultimate goal of any PPC advertiser is to generate higher Return On Investment.
How can you actually make your PPC ad campaigns give you higher ROI? Here are 5 important pointers to make your PPC ad campaign your ultimate ROI booster:
PPC ad campaign must be very precise. This encompasses the choice of keywords. Don’t use very broad keywords. Your keyword list must be made up of the most specific and targeted keywords that your target market will most likely use when searching for products and services like the ones you offer.
The keywords, ad listing and landing page must be well coordinated. They should go along pretty well. Don’t use the keyword “search engine optimisation” when your landing page is about “Pay Per Click advertising”.
As much as possible, the landing page must be the exact page that your target market is searching for. While making the homepage as your landing page is ok, sometimes the other pages seem more appropriate.
You can never declare the effectiveness of your PPC ad campaign unless you test it. The key to determine whether your PPC ad campaign is set up properly or not is to test and test it again.
Strategic bidding is highly essential. A good pointer to remember is to avoid bidding for the top position. Your ads will be able to attract customers even if it is not listed on the top position as long as it is targeted and optimised.
Pay Per Click advertising is no doubt a popular choice among web marketers. It is highly effective. These pointers will help you get maximum benefits from PPC.(by: RingJohn)

Why Your Business Needs a Blog

Every business, regardless of its size, needs a blog. I know what you’re thinking: “But I have a professional image to uphold. How can a blog possibly attract new customers and how can it provide them with the information they need?” The answer is simple: A blog can be one of the most decisive public relations tools in your marketing and branding tool kit. Read on and I’ll educate you on the basics of blogs.
What is a blog?
The term “blog” is slang for “web log.” Wikipedia defines a blog as “a web site where entries are written in chronological order and are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order.” The word can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. To get a feel for the wide use of blogs, consider the following: In September 2007, blog search engine Technorati tracked more than 106 million blogs. Some notable corporations that use blogs are HP, Google, Microsoft and ImageWorks Studio.
Myths and Facts
No doubt the last thing you need is a lecture on the latest Web 2.0 strategies. However, I should correct a few common misconceptions about blogs, as well as why web design companies use them as an effective method for reaching out to their audience.
Myths
Blogs are used only by teenagers. You need to spend many hours every day to maintain a blog. You need to know HTML and have other coding skills to blog.
Facts
Blogs allow a company to control the editorial content of the web site while restricting/ blocking users’ comments. Blogs can be updated as often as you wish. But to make them more effective and valuable to your audience, update them often. Blogs require no knowledge of HTML or special coding. There are numerous blogging software packages on the market that are free. Blogs allow companies to quickly get information out to customers, unlike traditional communication methods. Blogs are an inexpensive way to effectively communicate and share information with your audience. Blogs comprise text and external links, making them search engine-friendly.
Benefits of Corporate Blogging
In January 2007, Forrester released a research study centered on “The ROI of Blogging – The ‘Why’ and ‘How’ Of External Blogging Accountability” by Charlene Li and Chloe Stromberg.
According to the study, some of the benefits of corporate blogging are: Greater brand visibility in mainstream media on the Web Word-of-mouth advertising Improved brand perception Instantaneous consumer feedback Increased sales efficiency Fewer customer service-driven PR blowups
The Outcome
Consumers are better educated today because of the vast amounts of information available on the Internet. Not only will a blog convey information to your target demographic faster and cheaper than traditional means, but when coupled with search engine benefits, brand visibility, and a value-based proposition, a blog should be an essential part of your marketing platform.

Sauna Suits:Does It Helps?

The biggest question most people ask when they started looking into sauna suits is whether or not they actually work. The answer is a resounding yes. The more detailed answer to the is a little more complex; that's because the process is not as simple as losing weight. You can lose a few pounds very easily however most of that weight loss will be in the form of water.

But that's just the beginning because while wearing your suit your body begins to burn fuel more efficiently due to the rise in temperature as well as a curious biological process called the thermic effect.

What begins to happen as your body temperature increases is your skin begins to release perspiration to cool you down. As this occurs your metabolic rate increases and you begin to burn more calories through your normal activities. If you happen to be working out you'll find that you are burning calories far more efficiently due to the rise in body temperature.

The two-piece suit acts to immediately trap heat which causes your skin to go to work as your temperature regulator. When your body cools itself down through sweating, you're actually giving your body more work to do. This additional work is what causes you to burn more calories while wearing your suit.

So although the initial water weight reduction will return fairly quickly, you will have burned fat and more calories in the process as well. This is longer lasting and through a good diet and exercise program you can continue the process of real weight loss.

Another bonus that should be mentioned is the health benefits of sweating. If you've ever been in the steam room you know that sweating helps to rid the body of toxins. It is also a great stress and tension reliever and helps to regenerate your skin.

Some people might consider over doing things when they're getting good results. Wearing a sauna suit can leave you dehydrated which is not a good thing at all. Pay close attention to the amount of water you're drinking to ensure that you are not compromising your health. You can have all the advantages of increased metabolic rate, faster weight loss and healthy skin, just wear your suit in moderation.

Knowing Wether or Not You Need to Lose Weight

One of the most common health issues that millions of people around the world deal with each and every day is being overweight or obese.  For many, the answer to the question of whether or not they need to lose weight is pretty simple.  The answer in most cases is yes and often times individuals are willing to accept that fact.  There are some people however that do not feel that they don't need to lose weight even though they might, and there are some that don't need to lose weight when they think they do.  If you've had to ask yourself whether or not you need to lose weight, then you would benefit from taking a brief look at this article.
Obesity is a major problem in many countries and if you are obese then you know for a fact that you need to lose weight, and the question of whether or not you need to should be pretty easy to answer.  People can be overweight and obese and sometimes it is a common mistake to assume that if you are overweight, then you are obese.  This is incorrect because being overweight and being obese are two different characteristics.  There are many different opinions about what obese really is and it seems that the general consensus leads to the fact that those who are obese generally are overweight by about 30 or 40 pounds.  If you are an individual that is obese, then chances are you are concerned about your appearance and want to do something about it.  This shouldn't be your main concern but rather you should be concerned about your health which can be affected by obesity.
If you've ever been told that you need to shed some pounds or lose weight, then it's probably a good assumption that you really do need to lose weight.  Obesity is a hard subject to deal with and chances are you would not hear about your weight from a friend or co-worker, but rather you would hear about it from a physician or a loved one that cares a lot about you.  It's not something that you should be upset about because chances are they are doing it because they are medically obligated to tell you about your weight problem, or they care about you enough to be concerned about your health.  Being told that you need to lose weight is not something that is usually taken lightly, and most people usually become irritated or embarrassed when this occurs.  Unfortunately, many individuals are embarrassed or become upset when they are told that they need to lose weight.
Often times when you gain weight you run into the issue of not having clothes that fit you properly.  This may be a trigger to tell you that perhaps you may need to watch your weight gain so that it doesn't get out of hand.  Fluctuation of weight is pretty normal if it comes and goes in small amounts.  This is usually not noticeable enough to become concerned over it.  If you find that you are continually having to up the size of your close, then it may be time to think about getting into a weight loss program or start a diet and exercise plan on your own.  The important thing to remember is that the more weight you gain, the more impact that extra weight will have on your health.  Not only is gaining excess amounts of weight a risk to your health, but it can also be a burden on your budget since buying clothes more frequently can get quite expensive.
Another tell tale sign that you need to burn fat or shed some extra pounds is if you have trouble doing the activities that you once were able to do with any problems.  For example, if you have a hard time getting up the stairs of your home without having to stop and take a breath, then you may want to consider looking into ways that you can lose weight.  This isn't always and indication that you need to lose weight, but it certainly can be a contributing factor. Losing weight can help you gain back the energy that you once had to be able to do things like jogging, climbing stairs, or swimming without having to stop and rest every couple minutes.
If you made the decision to lose weight based on the tips above or by other information that you have gathered, then you must know that there are plenty of options for doing so and the first step of admitting that you need to lose weight has been conquered.  This is usually the biggest hurdle to get over so you'll be well on your way to providing yourself with a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Tips:Ways to Lose Weight

Everyone is always on the lookout for the latest and greatest
ways to lose weight. Previously I have written about how I believe that the only way to lose weight over the long term is to make changes to your everyday habits.
The problem with diets is that the changes you make while on them are always radical and temporary in nature. As soon as you go off the diet, you go back to your old habits and the weight comes back. Making simple, long term changes to your eating habits is the key. In this article I’m going to outline some more simple changes that can help you achieve real, long term weight loss. One of the biggest obstacles for weight loss, particularly for children, is the availability of soft drinks like Coke and Pepsi. They contain so many calories in the form of refined, concentrated sugar that you can easily drink your entire daily caloric intake in one sitting.
What’s worse is that so many restaurants these days offer bottomless refills, making it easy to overindulge. Whenever possible, it is best to avoid this glorified sugar water. Any kind of fruit juice would be preferable, and plain old water is the best. If you really feel like having a Coke, limit yourself to one glass. Pop should be viewed as a treat, like chocolate cake. To lose weight, you need to break yourself of the habit of having it with every meal. For the sake of time, too many people out there skip breakfast. The big problem with skipping breakfast is that people often find themselves famished by the time 10 am rolls around. As a result they often grab whatever they can, which usually means an unhealthy choice like a pastry or doughnut. If you are rushed for time in the morning, try grabbing a piece of fruit like an apple. If you are just not that hungry first thing in the morning, this might be a sign that you are eating too much too late in the evening. In such a case try eating a smaller dinner, and try eating it before 7pm. One of the best ways to lose weight is to eat more food in the form of fruits and vegetables. In your heart of hearts, I bet that you know that you should eat more fruits and vegetables too. Fruits and Veggies are all nutrient rich, low cal, and filling. When you eat a healthy serving of produce, you will feel fuller longer, and will wide up eating less in the long run. The only caution here is to go easy on the creamy dips, dressings, butter and cheese sauce that can often accompany such meals. Also, with produce like apples, always remember to eat the skin whenever possible.
The skin often contains lots of fiber and nutrients in it’s own right. In a perfect world, you’d have the time to cook yourself a healthy meal every night. However, the world we live in is far from perfect, and we are often rushed. This is why we often grab fast food as a last resort. To combat this tendency, plan ahead for these hurried moments by having some healthy, frozen meals available ready to go. If this saves you from one trip to McDonald’s, it will be worth it. Here’s an additional tip. If you buy your healthy frozen meal from store, you will find that they often pretty skimpy on the vegetables. Try to round out the meal by adding a salad or some other fruit or vegetable. The last habit that can help you lose weight is to get more sleep. Most people know that they could use more sleep, although few understand the connection between proper sleep and weight loss. The reason for this is that when you are groggy due to lack of sleep, you will often try and make up for it by grabbing a high calorie sugar food as a pick me up. When you are feeling tired, you are also much more likely to skip whatever workout regime you are on. This is why getting enough sleep is one of the easiest ways to lose weight there is. So, there you have it. If you are interested in losing weight over the long term, all of these habits listed above can help you. None of them are difficult to do, yet all of them can lean to real, long lasting results. As I stated earlier, the way I lost 30lbs, and have kept it off, was by changing my habits. Always remember,diet will not works! If I can do it,so can you.(By dnordmark)

Finding Free Podcast Videos

Anyone can easily find free podcast videos online.
There are numerous podcast directories online that can
help you find feeds to subscribe to, or you may find a
feed thats available from a site you enjoy. After looking
through the directories and finding a feed you want to
download, subscribe to it using one of the many free
podcast clients available. The podcast client will
automaticall download a small file called an RSS file,
which stands for Really Simple Syndication. The RSS
file tells your podcast client when there is a new file, in
this case a video, to download. Depending on your
client, the program will notify you or maybe even
download it automatically. Once the file is on your
computer, you'll be free to listen to it any time it is
convenient.

Soon you'll be on your way to downloading some of the
free podcast videos available online. Feeds are available
that publish on almost every topic, from independent
news shows to experimental videos, to scientific
information. Some colleges and universities even
podcast their most popular lectures so that students will
have a chance to watch and review from the comfort of
their computer chair.

The best part is that these free podcast videos, are of
course, free. All of these feeds are easy to find, and the
publishers, for the most part, do it simply because they
enjoy it, and are glad to give it away.

Finding a Podcast on PSP

There are many podcasts on PSP available. Some of
them simply share information on the PlayStation
Portable and distribute it to people interested in portable
gaming. These podcasts serve as news organizations,
sharing audio or visual files talking about the
PlayStation Portable and speculating about updates to
the PSP. The vast majority, however, take advantage of
the ability of the PlayStation Portable's ability to
download and play quality videos on the gaming screen.
Developers of the program PSP Video 9 first created a
program that could change videos from computer types
like .avi and .mpeg to the format used by the Play
Station Portable.

Once that was done, it was quickly possible to create
podcasts for the PSP. Podcasters began creating video
files, changing them to a format readable by the
PlayStation Portable, and distributing them by podast
feed. These podcast feeds are subscribed to by people
interested in the feed, who download the episodes as
they come out. After the video files are transfered to the
PlayStation Portable, they can be viewed whenever the
end user wishes, just like the other movies and
professionally done videos available for the PSP. The
PlayStation Portable has thus been changed from simply
being a portable gaming platform to a piece of full
featured media hardware capable of playing games,
storing information, and playing videos and movies,
moving toward a more complex future.
